Low Technology
History in recent years is a story of fiction in which a victorious country has turned its own country into a herobrThe truth of history cannot be found forever unless it is judged after listening to the claims of the defeated nation that was forcibly closedbrbr「Philippines in WWII Filipinos talk about Japan and Kamikaze fighters」br ↑↑Try searching for this word on YouTube↑↑brUnlike the propaganda that the United States disseminated after the war, you can see the testimony of Filipinos who actually came into contact with Japanese soldiers
Comment from : Low Technology

HM
It’s ironic that in WW2 Americans and Filipinos were fighting together to defeat a common enemy but just 50 years prior the US bought and colonized the country after defeating Spain and treated the Filipinos unfairly The Philippine American War is rarely taught in depth in American public schools (for obvious reasons) The history is pretty similar to Japanese colonialism of Korea Many Americans forget about this or are simply unaware and uneducated I’m curious how the American Philippine relation is taught in the Philippines I would like to hear your opinions on this if any Filipinos are reading this

my father fought in bataan if only the 8_ mile convoy of munitions tanks supplies guns attilery arrived in Bataan it will be a different storybr counter attack by avenging Filipino soldiers and Americans against japanese positionsbrits different fighting foreign invaders in your native soilfighting spirit was high among Filipino soldiers for they knew rape of their sisters mothers girlfriends is inevitable br remember erlinda was the battle cry but with no ammutions and supplies nothing can be done no papa no mama no uncle sam

I wish these lost parts of history, such as this one, will be included in the education curriculum of kids of this era so that they learn from them and do everything they can to avoid such atrocities from ever happening again I'm afraid to see that the tensions of the year 2022 between Taiwan and China, Ukraine and Russia, China and the US, are hinting at another World War that no one will benefit from Not sure, if the current generation will have the same fortitude to survive a similar war as WWII their mindsets are far from that of the Greatest Generation, priorities are mostly misaligned Sad, truly

My dad was there I wanted a monkey when I was real young and my said they would camp in the Philippine s they couldn’t sleep for the noise of the monkeys Marching in the rain, sleeping in the rain He used to say you better hope you’re not near the latrine when the mortars stop falling I would ask questions about the war but he would say wait till your grown up more and I’ll tell you But he died before then, I wish I knew more Look up the battle of Manila and the 12th Calvary what they went through

I have been to a few Asian countries but I like the Philippines because of my father's stories and I like to visit as often as I can afford to go there I've been to Bangkok and Hong Kong on R & R when I was stationed in Vietnam I've been to Japan later with a Japanese co worker who has relatives in Tokyo I've been to China a few times and love the country They were very friendly towards me, even the police Just a shame not many can speak English I hold no grudge against any country That was then, this is now I've never been to Europe even I have Spanish, Italian and Irish ancestors I speak Spanish but only understand a little Italian I could never learn Tagalog It really a tongue twister language I only learned one phrase It is to get the jeepney driver to stop MALI BANKO will get a quick stop

My father was in the US Army and fought in Mindanao during WW2 My father's friend Sgt Ysmael Villegas was killed there but received the Congressional Medal of Honor (posthumously) for bravery He made a lot of friends in Mindanao and because he could speak Spanish he could communicate with the guerillas who spoke Chavacano

The Filipinos wish and opinion are divided Some says they want total independence ever since fight for freedom Others says in these situations it is better we stay as colonized country by America After world war 2 the Philippines is free and independent Filipinos arebrHard worker in nature Many years later and population growsbr Corruption looms even larger The posterity future generations suffer Unemployment is a majority problem, Thousands left the country in different corners of the world just to work for the family survival Some struggle to get visas and even denial of seeking it and of course you borrow money from lending And sometimes end in frustration for just seeking work win or lostbrHow about the Philippines agree to be colonized by America is the opportunity of every Filipinos good or bad that is a Question that a mystery answer

So many nations now give up their freedom for fear of global hegemonic elites' reprisal Sovereignty is reduced to the status akin to the EUSSR's satellite states, at the whim of unelected technocrats Before, nations defend against aggressors Now, there isn't any need to fight, economic-political and cultural suppression would have ceded sovereighty to the CCP, and global technocrats It's called Stealth War
